To make things easier on the mods, please spell it adrinette for the sake of this event. Misspelled tags may lead to your submission being missed.

  1. This is a salt-free event. This includes any harsh or negative critique of the show, characters, ships, fandom, or creators.
  2. Please center your submissions around Adrinette. Each side of the love square has a designated month, and there will be plenty of opportunity to create content for the other sides of the love square soon.
  3. For the purposes of this event, the Shadybug universe Adrinette is valid for submissions. Create all of the emo children content you desire.
  4. NSFW is allowed, but please put it under a read more and tag appropriately.

Perfectly Human - 6

Adrien turned the corner and stopped at a crossroad. 

There were only a few seconds left before the light would change to red.

He wasn’t in a hurry. 

His father had always insisted on hurrying. He would’ve hated for Adrien to leisurely walk back home instead of taking a car.

A woman right beside him loudly gasped and pushed her cup of coffee into his hand. Then, she jumped onto the road and pulled an elderly man in a red Hawaiian shirt towards the sidewalk, saving him from being run over by a car but hitting Adrien’s arm in the process.

Her coffee cup wasn’t completely closed. Adrien realized it as soon as the warm liquid splashed all over his shirt and jacket, slowly dripping onto his pants.

“Are you sure you’re okay?” the woman—who didn’t seem to even notice Adrien’s existence—asked the elder for the third time.

“Yes, yes. Thank you, young lady.” The man smiled at her. “I owe you my life.”

“Don’t be ridiculous, sir,” she replied, her back still to Adrien. “You don’t owe me anything but, please, be careful next time.”

“I will.” The man nodded. “Have a good day, young lady. You too, young man.” He looked at him walking by, a glint of something Adrien couldn’t quite distinguish sparkling in his eyes. 

“Oh, my gosh! I’m so sorry!” The woman finally noticed him.

Her eyes were blue.

A very, very beautiful shade of sky blue.

Marinette meets Adrien’s friends.

chapter excerpt:

When the waiter arrived with a bottle of wine she hadn’t noticed anyone ordering, Marinette still had no idea what she wanted to eat.

Félix, who hadn’t looked at the menu once, had no such trouble. “We’ll have the Bresse farm poached hen for two.”

The waiter nodded, then moved past Kagami to take Adrien’s order. Kagami seemed unbothered by Félix ordering for her. Should Marinette expect Adrien to order for her too? Or had Kagami and Félix already discussed their order before coming? 

She should’ve done that. Why hadn’t she done that?

“The salmon, please,” Adrien told the waiter.

The waiter turned to Marinette.

Marinette swallowed what felt like a rock in her throat. Apparently the waiter did not expect Adrien to order for her. Something she would’ve appreciated in… literally any other situation.

“Do you have any food allergies?” Kagami asked, looking irritated.
Marinette shook her head.

“She’ll have the lobster,” Kagami told the waiter, and that was that.

“How long are you planning on doing this?”

Adrien shrugged, trying to get Nahida across the field on his screen as fast as possible. “I found out my father was one of the most wanted terrorists in France—who, may I mention, my now-estranged-because-of-him partner and I have been fighting for almost a decade—the same day I learned I’m not even human and my whole life was possibly one huge, fat lie. I’m allowed to be a bit depressed.”

"A bit? Yes.” Félix picked up an empty convenience store food package off the floor and stashed it into a garbage bag. “But it’s been over two months and you’re still playing video games in your pyjamas all day long. At least come outside with me to get some real food.”

“My father would’ve loved for me to eat ‘real food,’ ” Adrien replied, frowning. 

Another monster. 

How annoying. 

At least Nahida was as powerful as she looked cute and innocent. 

But perhaps he’d switch to Kazuha for this particular nuisance. 

“Aren’t you tired of instant noodles, chips, and soda?” Félix sighed, adding to his collection of recyclables in a trash bag. “Your metabolism is saving you now, but give it another month or two, and I wouldn’t be surprised if—”

“Marvelous!” Adrien smirked, switching to Kazuha. “My father would’ve hated for me to gain weight.”

Chat Noir, who’d Cataclysmed through the bottom of the cavity, landed first—and miraculously on his feet.

When he caught Marinette, there was no seatbelt to blame for the erratic beat of her heart.

If asked, though, the flush of her cheeks was nothing more than adrenaline.

“That was clever thinking, princess,” he praised.

“Someone had to be clever,” she retorted. “And I’m not your princess.”

“But you fit in my arms just like one,” he quipped with a wink.
